Ice Hockey New Zealand is pleased to announce that applications are now open for key staff roles within the National Under-16 Men’s Team for the 2025 to 2026 international season.
We are seeking passionate, experienced individuals to join the national programme in the following positions:
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Team Manager
These volunteer roles are vital to the development of our emerging athletes and the continued success of our national age-group programmes. The Under-16 programme serves as the entry point into the Ice Hockey New Zealand High Performance pathway and plays a crucial role in building the foundational skills, mindset, and culture for future international success.
Successful applicants will demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of player development and athlete welfare
- Experience in high-performance environments or competitive club-level programmes
- A commitment to fostering a positive team culture and collaborating across disciplines
- Ability to plan, deliver, and review individual development plans
- Familiarity with the New Zealand style of play and performance expectations
2025–2026 Programme Commitments (Subject to confirmation):
- 12–14 September: High Performance Summit – Auckland
- 9–13 October: Trans-Tasman Series – Melbourne
- 24–27 October: Youth Development Camp – Auckland
- Ongoing delivery of the High Performance Programme within your region (Oct–Apr)
Applicants for the Head Coach role must hold (or be in the process of completing) a Level 2 Ice Hockey NZ Coaching License and agree to police vetting. Additional requirements may apply depending on the role.
